About ZenBlockk

ZenBlockk exists for one reason: most people learn about money, and especially about cryptocurrency, from marketing, hype and jargon, and those are terrible teachers. Our aim is to be the thing we could not find when we started: a place that explains how money and this technology actually work, what they are genuinely useful for, where the risks sit and what the rules are, without trying to sell you anything.

What we do

We publish long-form explainers and practical guides in two areas. The first is everyday personal finance: saving, emergency funds, compound interest, loans and credit, mortgages and the basics of investing. The second is cryptocurrency, where the site began: Bitcoin and Ethereum, DeFi, security, mining, trading, and regulation and tax. A typical article takes four to nine minutes to read because the subject genuinely takes that long to explain properly. Everything is free, there is no paywall, no email gate and no membership tier, and the site includes free calculators for compound interest, credit card payoff and emergency funds.

What we deliberately do not do

  • We do not predict prices, and we do not publish trading signals or “next 100x” lists.
  • We do not tell anyone what to buy. We are not licensed to give investment advice and we would not want to.
  • We do not run sponsored posts, paid reviews or guest posts placed for link building.
  • We do not promote presales, airdrops, yield schemes or anything that promises a guaranteed return.
  • We never ask readers for a wallet address, a private key or a seed phrase — and nobody legitimate ever will.

Who writes ZenBlockk

Hugo Mellado, founder and author of ZenBlockk
Hugo Mellado, founder of ZenBlockk

ZenBlockk is researched, written and edited by Hugo Mellado, its founder. It is an independent, self-funded publication rather than a company blog or a marketing channel for an exchange.

Hugo is a Digital Marketing student at UTAMED, a Spanish online university, and in 2026 earned the official professional competency certificate in Creación y Diseño de Soportes y Canales — the creation and design of digital media and channels — training he applies specifically to building financial-education content and tools for a US audience, including the interactive calculators on this site. He is based in Sevilla, Spain, and works from primary sources (regulator and tax-authority publications, statistical agencies, whitepapers, protocol documentation and on-chain data) rather than social media commentary. He is not a financial adviser and does not hold himself out as one.

Every article carries his byline and the date it was published, and you can browse everything he has written on his author page. How we research, fact-check and correct our work is set out in full in our editorial policy.

How the site is funded

ZenBlockk is funded by display advertising. That keeps the articles free, and it comes with an obvious obligation: advertising must never shape what we write. Advertisers do not choose our topics, do not see articles before publication and cannot buy a mention inside one. Ad slots are visually separated and labelled so they cannot be confused with editorial content. Advertisements are selected by the ad network rather than by us, so their presence here is never an endorsement — and if an advert promises guaranteed returns, treat it exactly as sceptically as you would anywhere else.

An important limit

Nothing we publish is financial, investment, legal or tax advice, and none of it is tailored to your situation. All investing carries risk, and cryptocurrency is especially volatile: you can lose everything you put into it. Please read our full disclaimer before acting on anything you read here, and speak to a professional licensed in your own country before making financial decisions.

Talk to us

Corrections are welcome and topic requests genuinely shape what we publish next. Both go through the contact page, and we aim to reply within three working days. If you are new here, the FAQ answers the questions we get most often, and resources collects the tools and primary sources we rely on ourselves.
